Shut Up And Dribble

Showtime’s three-part doc “Shut Up and Dribble” starts with an opening with a layered and frenetic treatment reflecting “the changing role of athletes in our fraught cultural and political environment.” I was responsible for designing and animating the majority of the frames in the opening. I began by adapting the initial style-frames into a finalized look that reflects the changing role of athletes in our current cultural and political environment. I then explored various animation techniques, such as cel and digital animation, to achieve the desired effect for the entire opening. With the exception of one shot, I completed the design and animation for all the frames.
